Top 40 under 40

CNNMoney.com released their annual "40 under 40" list of the most talented business leaders under the age of 40. There are several noteworthy inclusions, specifically the co-founders of Twitter, as well as CNBC news anchor Erin Burnett. What did catch my eye was that Jay-Z and Steve Stout were on the list. The other interesting entry was Ralph Gilles, the CEO of Dogde, as well as Chrysler's SVP of Design. What is striking is the dearth of African Americans on the list, and when they are on the list they're, per usual, consigned to the very familiar realms of sports and entertainment. I was glad to see Mr. Gilles bring some variety to the list. I am hoping that with the many opportunities available to African Americans that we begin to see more variety in the endeavors that we choose to pursue. Till then I suppose we should congratulate those who did make the list.
